Legal Advocacy

The YWCA Legal Advocacy Program provides free and confidential legal education, advocacy and referrals to individuals who are survivors of domestic violence or intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

Services are provided to Norfolk residents who have experienced sexual assault, domestic violence or stalking and services are provided to residents of Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk and Virginia Beach who have experienced sexual assault.

· Assistance with court filings including preliminary and permanent protective orders.
· Accompaniment to legal proceedings.
· Safety planning, crisis intervention and legal referrals.
· Services are available in Spanish.
